Bumping out and repainting jobs come high these days. It will pay to avoid them.
Watch for and aft while parking for projecting objects that might hit your car or S.U.V. above bumpers. Higher bumper guards will help. Girth feelers, fender markers are also sound investments.
If your garage is narrow or someone in your family is learning to drive, put up bumper pads where car might scrape. Nail pieces of old tire casings on door frame corners and in garage wall where swinging door hits.
An exhaust extension to carry fumes beyond car will help protect rear areas. Sulfur in exhaust fume gasses may corrode metal near tailpipe.
Undercoating especially on the fenders will prevent much rust, but even so edges may chip easily and should be touched up promptly. Door bottoms are also another trouble spot and often scraping paint when opened on high curbs.
